What does "stratagem" mean?
Stratagem: Any device for obtaining advantage. The Encyclopedia Britannica defines Stratagem: "1 A maneuver designed to deceive or outwit an enemy in war. 2 A deception; any device for obtaining advantage."
What does "strategy" mean?
Strategy: Art of intelligently applying means to a desired end. The Encyclopedia Britannica defines Strategy: "1 The science and art of conducting a military campaign by the combination and employment of means on a broad scale for gaining advantage in war; generalship, distinguished from tactics. 2 The use of stratagem or artifice, as in business, politics, etc. 3 Skill in management."
What are the main benefits of strategy games in education?
Strategy games develop skills in reading, following directions, cooperation, listening, critical thinking, logical analysis, spatial reasoning, and sportsmanship. Are wargames only for men?
No. However, there exists many cultural and other reasons why woman tend to exclude themselves from this area of study. At Stratagem Solutions we have found that the multi-player family style games are more popular with women. Whereas, men tend to be drawn to the conflict oriented war simulations but are also engaged and educated by the family style games and simulations.
What is the cost?
We tailor our program to suit your needs. We have done many things simply because we felt that it was the right thing to do, however our regular rates are competitive with any similar type of training (not less than $1000/day normally). However, introductory trials may be run for as little as $200 on a case-by-case basis.
